Friends will contact you once your plaque arrives. Please allow approximately 8-12 weeks from the time the order is placed.

Historic Home plaques are a beautiful way to honor your home’s past and share Ocean City’s rich architectural heritage with neighbors and visitors alike.

Our homes are a part of what gives our island its Mid-Atlantic character—and where our own stories live. Any home or building anywhere in Ocean City built before 1957 is eligible for a Historic Home Plaque.

When you display your Historic Home marker, you become a visible part of Ocean City’s living history by celebrating your home, your legacy, and by becoming part of the many wonderful historic homes that are proudly still standing today.

We also offer research services for $45 to confirm your home’s “born-on” date. A Friends volunteer will visit the Record Room at the Cape May County Clerk's office to research the age of your home if you are unsure of the date. Their findings will be provided to you, though this does not include a copy of the deed. (This is not required to purchase a Plaque, but an add-on for those who wish for assistance with their home’s research.)
